Český Krumlov

6 Oct

I’ll stop bitching for a few days about the autumn and my depression and instead I’ll think about the sunny days I had in Prague this August. Pavla proposed we take a trip to a nearby city. I picked Český Krumlov the moment I saw some pictures with the town. I couldn’t have made a better choice :)

Český Krumlov is a beautiful, beautiful town! At least the old part of the town :D The ones who don’t like to be surrounded by tourists all the time and think that Prague is too touristic should really visit Český Krumlov instead. It’s quaint, small, beautiful :P – the perfect town to wander around for a day. It’s also part of the UNESCO Word Heritage Sites.

We had an excellent time there, ate plenty of traditional Czech food and drank a very sweet traditional brandy (got a bit tipsy, must admit that *blushing* ). All in all, the Prague experience was something that I won’t ever forget :)

Finally, Prague!

Biking events are over, the kitty is at her new home, I have the master interviews/exams on the same day, so yeah, why not blog instead of banging my head on the desk?

The more I think about Prague, the more I miss it. When it comes to traveling I don’t need much to be happy. But this time I had more than enough. Pavla was the best guide I could possibly have; her mum was an excellent cook (I’m sorry I looked so suspiciously at those dumplings, but I really didn’t know what they were; and I still want the recipe for that vegetable soup. PLEASE? ;;) ); I got a discount for the books I bought at her father’s bookstore; and her brother and sister made everything possible to make me feel welcome.

I can’t describe Prague. It’s a city you have to see for yourself. And it’s a city you won’t ever regret having visited. The old city is fantastic. I wandered for hours and hours on the streets there and I couldn’t get enough of it. Everywhere you looked there were gorgeous old buildings impeccable renovated. Art, history, good taste. It has it all.

Of course there were many tourist. Of course every souvenir had “Praha” written on it. Of course the garbage cans could have been emptied more often. But that so doesn’t matter. Nothing ruined the charm of that city for me, on the contrary. I don’t think I could get used to living in such a city. I would always be amazed of it’s beauty; I would feel like a tourist there all the time.

And even though there weren’t bikers, there were readers. Lots and lots of readers. And beautiful people. Or maybe I chose to see only the beautiful ones. And let’s not forget about the excellent cheap beer. Damn, I miss Prague so much! :(

Ahoj!

24 Aug

After a whole day of walking around the old Prague, taking pictures and buying books (I highly recommend Saturnin by Zdenek Jirotka) I can honestly say that this is a city to love. I know I’m a person who falls in love way too easily and I know I was in love with every city I have visited, but Prague, oh Prague is simply magnifique!

The houses are so cute and colourful that they look like huge bonbons that you feel like picking up and putting them in your pocket in order to enjoy them later by yourself. This is a city I’m glad I’m not sharing with someone. My egotistic self is feeling really good right now; it has everything only for itself.

People reading in the metro, paved streets, old trams, beautiful guys, houses that I’d give anything to move into starting from right now – this is Prague. Not to mention that Pavla’s mother is an excellent cook!

No pics for now; I don’t trust Pavla’s laptop :D

K.O.

24 Aug

Nici nu au intrat bine pe scena ca am primit trei lovituri una dupa cealalta: There There, Lucky si All I Need.
