(Brașov, 05.-06.07.2014)
What did we do in the weekend when we couldn’t go trekking or climbing? We went to the adventure park in Brașov, visited the city and still climbed a bit :) We had LOTS of fun and we totally crushed the hardest route. Back then I could still do 7 pull-ups (!!!) so I was in tiptop shape. Bragging aside, it was really an incredibly awesome day for all of us and we’re keen on going back there when they change the routes.
Brașov is such a lovely city! I’d been there once before but now I was taken aback by its beauty. I think it’s one of the most Western cities in Romania. We took in the glamorous old buildings, we had incredibly tasty food, some of us ate huge quantities of ice cream, others couldn’t decide what cake to have so they had two, so on and so forth…
I would love to make Brașov our getaway place. It’s close, it’s wonderful, it’s relatively cheap and it’s in Transylvania. What more could I possibly want? :))
But I guess that when you’re with the right people you feel great anywhere you are. We were a happy bunch, climbers and non-climbers, and we talked, and talked, and talked, and we walked and we laughed. I can hardly wait for our Bulgaria trip together! (Martha is also joining us, so triple YAY!!!)
I’ve been very lazy these past weeks. No climbing (the gym is getting new floors and it takes ages!!!), no work after work. I caught up on my reading and my doing nothing capabilities are endless but I can hardly wait to go back to our routine and have again that sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
(I’m not even going to mention how scared I was to lead climb a mere 6+ and how I yelled „take!” every time I reached a quickdraw. Or how much I enjoyed the technical 7- I tried top rope. Nope, not going to mention it.)
It has been a pretty awesome summer although we haven’t climbed or gone trekking as much as we would have liked. Nonetheless, we enjoyed every outing, every weekend spent as far away from Bucharest as possible and we’re pretty sure that our autumn will be at least epic :P
Awesome photos of a true beauty! That’s the kind of architecture I like the most.
