Next two days are characterised by Gaudí‘s works. I didn’t feel well on Tuesday morning, so we stayed at the hostel and I slept my pain away and after it was gone, we went to Sagrada Família. What I liked most about this trip was that we walked almost everywhere and took the metro only twice. And a thing I loved as a pedestrian was their large pavements. In fact, some of them were so large, that they didn’t even need separate tracks for bicycles. And talking about bikes, they were absolutely everywhere! I thought that they were many in Vienna, well, now I think there were incredibly many in Barcelona :) *thumbs up!*

Sagrada Família didn’t impress me that much. From the pics I’d seen, I thought it was bigger, turned out it was actually smaller than I had expected :) But that wasn’t the problem. I don’t know, I just found it too full of details, sculptures, it was almost ugly 8-|

But that doesn’t apply to his other works I’ve seen. The hostel we stayed in was really close Casa Battló and that one I found beautiful. The same applies to Park Güell.

I loved the trip to the park. We passed through some poorer parts of Barcelona and once the glitter and the tourists of La Rambla were gone, I could actually feel that I’m in the real Barcelona, a more private one. A Barcelona only for myself :)

The Sigur Rós concert took place on Wednesday night and I was taken aback to see that the people who were gathered at the entrance almost 2h befire the show were forming a queue! I mean – wow!!! I asked a guy if they always did that and he said that it was the first time he saw a queue at a concert and that it seemed that the Spanish were turning civilized :)) The people were sitting on the pavement, eating, drinking wine, taking and even reading. Now that’s what I call bohemian attitude :)

And besides the fact that the concerts was INCREDIBLE, there isn’t more I can say about it. Yeah, the Icelanders rocked my night! :)

Ok, this is strange. I’m leaving for Barcelona on Friday and I’m also going for a concert – which is on Monday. I have 5 days with 4 friends, and we’re terribly busy planning what to visit and of course, trying the get the full out of the 5 days. We’re staying somewhere in port area, in a cozy – or so I hope – apartment. I can’t wait! It’ll be my first trip by plain and the second time I’m going outside Romania. I am glad you enjoyed your trip, I hope mine will be the same too :)

*sorry, that is a plane, of course, not a plain. #-o

@ morbo: I read what was written on the packaged – both in Spanish and in Catalan and I didn’t find such big differences between the two :-??

@ miruna: nu, nu am ajuns pe acolo, dar stiu una la noi, pe Stefan cel Mare :))

@ Arana: ooooh, you’re going to LOVE Barcelona! :D

  6. morbo says:

well, not big differences, they are of course both romance languages (many words aren’t that different from romanian either – look at those ”morts” and ”tots”) and neighbours. but catalan starts to sound closer to french and italian than that rough spanish. anyway, too bad we have to know this stupid english instead of other languages :)
